OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2011. Power Machines OJSC has successfully tested the reconsructed steam turbine K-210-130 for Gusinoozerskaya SDPP, which is part of Third Power-Generating Company of the Wholesale Electricity Market OJSC (OGK-3 OJSC).

 This K-210 turbine was manufactured by Leningradsky Metallicheskiy Zavod, a part of Power Machines, 18 years ago for Pechorskaya SDPP (now part of OGK-3 OJSC). The equipment was not mounted and stored at the power plant. In 2009 OGK-3 OJSC decided to use the turbine for technical upgrading of Gusinoozerskaya SDPP power-generating unit No. 4.

 The contract signed with Power Machines provides for the renewal of the manufacturer's warranty for the turbine, its economic efficiency and reliability parameters. In addition, the contract specifies the optimisation of turbine operating parameters in accordance with new engineering developments.

 The main restoration works related to the low pressure turbine assemblies. In addition, a new sealing system was used and highly effective technologies for forced cooldown of the turbine and preservation of its flow-path in case of long outages were implemented. More effective water-jet ejectors were installed instead of steam-jet ones. The steam distribution system for the high pressure turbine was optimised; at the same time highly effective hermetic liquid-metal seals were used. All this has made it possible to enhance the turbine reliability during long operation, improve its cyclic load capabilities and considerably simplify the operating conditions.
