Moldova to Lift Excise Duties on Wines, Grape Juice in 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2011. The excise duties on wines and grape juices will be cancelled in 2012, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said at a working meeting with Moldovan wine-makers today.
Filat noted that he will personally discuss the matter with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He reckons that this decision will help wine producers avoid certain procedures in their work and will enhance their capacity of selling wines on the domestic market.
Also, at the request of the wine-makers, the certification of wines will be de-monopolized, and the certification fees will be cut. At the same time, following an analysis, the government will intervene in the establishment of the size of fees for the issuance of licenses in the wine-making field, which are presently not justified, Filat stressed.
At the same time, the prime minister demanded that the wine-making companies that have debts for the grapes purchased from peasants last year to clear them till the new harvest.
