OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2011. Avangard Asset Management Company presented a private equity fund in agriculture AVG CIS Agricultural Opportunities Fund, administered by the Avangard AM. The area of Fund interest includes the purchase and creation of new crop farms, investments in the downstream processing of agricultural products, infrastructure and logistics, as well as creation of a bank of agricultural land. The most important among the new projects is the construction of livestock farms, as well as the development of greenhouses.

AVG CIS Agricultural Opportunities Fund intends to implement several large investment projects on pig and poultry production. Thus, in the Voronezh region Fund has commenced the construction of the first pig farm for 300 thousand units. The second phase of this project will increase the number by another 700 thousand animals. The total investment will amount about 20 billion rubles. At the stage of pre-project there are two pig farms of 500 thousand units each in Bashkortostan and Orenburg region. Investments in these projects are also estimated about 20 billion rubles. After the launching of these farms to full capacity in 2014, the total number of pigs to reach 2 million units.

As part of the greenhouse business, Avangard Asset Management will run the company "Fabrika ovoshey." Greenhouses will be located on 60 hectares of land in Chelyabinsk, Rostov, Tula and Novgorod regions, and plan to begin their work in 2012. Investment in new business will amount about 7 billion rubles, and with access to the full capacity the company plans to get about 37 thousand tons per year.
