Russian Railways to Take Part in Franco-Russian Dialogue Session
OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2011. The President of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin is to attend the summer session of the association The Franco-Russian Dialogue which will be held in Paris on 21 June 2011.
Attending the session will be senior managers from major Russian and French companies, government and public figures and representatives of science, art and culture. The following questions will be under discussion at the meeting:
problems of civil society development and their solutions,
development of multilateral relations of friendship and strategic partnerships between Russia and France, including integration issues,
prospects for economic cooperation in the European Space: New Markets - New Horizons,
support for the development of joint business projects: the exchange of information about new possibilities, areas for investment and the creation of new platforms for developing business contacts,
development of joint projects in transportation and heavy machinery,
cooperation in innovation,
joint efforts to counter terrorist threats,
development of joint educational projects,
partnership in the energy sector,
searching for new forms of, and perspectives for cultural cooperation,
promotion of youth cooperation, in particular student exchanges, summer camps and summer internships.
The association The Franco-Russian Dialogue was established in Paris at the initiative of the Russian and French presidents in 2004. In March 2011 VIadimir Yakunin and Thierry Desmarest were elected co-presidents of the association. Desmarest is Honorary Chairman of the French oil company Total.
