OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2011. The Moscow city Mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, announced that the sum of 100 bln. RUB would be allocated to modernize the Moscow city public health system within the next two years.

According to the Mayor, in the next two years the Moscow city public health system would be transferred to a new financing scheme based, in general, on the medical insurance. "This is a serious challenge, a very strong competitive environment that includes not only municipal clinics but federal and private one as well. I hope that the measures we are planning to take will increase the Moscow city health care system competitive performance and make it stronger," said the Mayor.

"Practically 100% of warned out and outdated equipment will be replaced. A program for inventory of public health system is being developed. It will „run through“ all our institutions starting from ambulatory care branch and up to the high-tech hospitals and centres," said the chief of the city administration.

"Replacement of the equipment will undoubtedly necessitate the updating of medical information systems. The systems shall provide automation for accounting, budget planning, control of medical devices loading and, in the long run, raising the efficiency of medical care management", said Andrey Borisov, the General director of PMT Company (Medical information system MEDIALOG) from ARMADA group of companies.
