OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2011. Within the framework of the World Economic Forum, ЕМС and the Russian Telecom Equipment Corporation (RTEC), the vendor of trusted computer equipment, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that lays the framework for an ОЕМ-Agreement.

According to this Memorandum, RTEC, a part of the Russian Technologies State Corporation, intends to become an authorized ЕМСOEM-Partner, enabling RTEC to design and develop, integrated storage solutions based on EMC products and  technologies, for the market in Russia. The Memorandum facilitates cooperation between the  two organizations, with the intention of enabling RTEC to offer hi-tech solutions customized for Russian Public Sector customers, taking into account their requirements for security, functionality, and high availability.  

EMC provides a wide range of information storage and management solutions targeted at small, medium businesses, and large enterprises of various industries.

“It is intended that ЕМС’s innovations in storage systems combined with RTEC’s experience in localization of solutions from foreign vendors, would enable the development of solutions which as much as possible, meet the requirements of the Russian Public customers,” said Andre Zverev, RTEC board member, general director of Roselectronika Holding, the Russian Technologies State Corporation subsidiary.  

“This Memorandum with RTEC is firstly a result of EMC’s commitment to public sector customers which could in the future, more easily obtain EMC’s cutting-edge technologies in the field of data storage. Our intention is that this cooperation with RTEC will enable ЕМСto take a step towards strengthening our position with the public sector in the Russian Federation –a high priority for EMC,” Adrian McDonald, President EMC EMEA North, commented on the Memorandum.
“RTEC uses the top global technologies and customizes them to the Russian market,” said Robert Agee, RTEC Senior VP. “The intended relationship with EMC,  would enable the design and development of quality integrated storage solutions based on EMC products and  technologies, at the Russian Technologies State Corporation facilities and would also facilitate the supply of leading Russian and foreign technologies to the Russian public sector. We hope that in future customers would be able to deploy best-of-breed, world-class solutions in their networks”.
