For several decades, Russia has been considered one of the leaders of the military helicopter industry. Since 1950, 65 thousand rotor machines have been produced in the world. Out of them, 26 thousand were assembled in our country, including 6 thousand – for export supplies. Over the past few years, production of Russian helicopters has increased by 20-30 percent. Currently, Russian helicopters operate in the countries of Latin America, Africa, South-East Asia and other regions. Russian rotor machines are actively used in peacekeeping missions of the United Nations.
Russian Helicopters Holding Company, a member of the Russian Technologies State Corporation will present exhaustive information about the Russian civil and military helicopter equipment. During the exhibition, the holding’s company management intends to sign a number of documents with foreign partners, including Agusta Westland, Italian producer of helicopters, within the framework of collaboration on the organization of batch production of AW139 helicopters in Russia.
Potential buyers take great interest in Mi-28NE helicopter which is capable of solving assigned missions day and night in any weather conditions. It has an integrated complex of the new generation aviation electronics. Reliable armor protection of the pilot’s cockpit and the vital units, as well as reservation of the basic helicopter systems, allow using Mi-28NE in conditions of strong enemy opposition. Thanks to a powerful weapon system, Mi-28NE helicopter is capable of providing effective fire support to land forces, hitting armored combat vehicles, protected sites, as well as surface and low-speed air targets.
For the next few years, Mi-35M will remain one of the world’s best multipurpose combat helicopters. The main feature of Mi-35M is its versatility. Apart from solving military missions, it can be effectively used as a landing, transport, ambulance machine, etc. When deploying the landing force onboard, the helicopter can place up to eight fully equipped soldiers, as a sanitary variant – up to 5 military men. As a transport variant, the helicopter can carry up to 2,400 kg on the external sling or up to 1,500 kg in the cargo cabin. Mi-35M is equipped with a powerful weapon system which provides for its high efficiency while performing combat tasks. By these characteristics, it is not behind its western competitors, and in terms of “efficiency/cost”, it is by far better.
Mi-26T2 is a new modification of the world-wide known heavy transport helicopter Mi-26T. It is designed for transportation of up to 82 military men, cargo, evacuation of the injured, as well as for fire-fighting, installation of heavy equipment, building bridges, power lines, boring towers, etc. Mi-26T2 can transport equipment and bulky cargo in the cargo cabin and on the external sling with the total weight of up to 20 tons. It is the most efficient load-lifting helicopter in the world, comparable in its capabilities with the American transport plane C-130 Hercules. The helicopter is equipped with a glass cockpit including five multipurpose LCD displays and control panels. The advanced integrated aviation electronics systems of Mi-26T2 ensure its application day and night in simple and semi-adverse weather conditions. This being the case, the crew size is reduced from five to two persons. When cargoes are carried on the external sling, an operator is added to the crew.
Light versatile helicopter Ka-226T is designed for conducting reconnaissance and observation in day and night conditions, performing the tasks of target indication and correction of artillery fire, transportation of immediate reaction forces and cargo, evacuation of the injured, patrol and support of convoys. The twin-rotor coaxial rotorcraft flight structure provides Ka-226T high aircraft performance characteristics and advantages over other helicopters, especially in mountainous areas. A small diameter of rotors and a powerful engine unit make it possible to effectively use the helicopter in the conditions of limited space. The feature of this helicopter is the modularity of its design, which enables a fast reconfiguration of the machine for solving specific tasks. Replacement of modules is carried out by efforts of 2 persons and takes no more than 20-30 min.
For many years, Rosoboronexport – the only company in Russia engaged in export/import of the whole range of end products, technologies and services of military and dual purpose – has been a permanent participant of the Parisian display of aviation equipment. Today, its share is 80 percent of export of the Russian weapons and military equipment. Rosoboronexport is one of the leaders of the world arms market. Among the partners of the Company are about 70 countries.
Hi-tech products of the aviation industry enterprises allow Russia to firmly hold the leading positions on the combat aviation market. In terms of the quantity of exported new and modernized multi-mission fighters, Russia takes the second place in the world. For example, last year, the largest volumes of export of military goods fell traditionally on the aviation equipment. Its share exceeded 43 percent of the total volume of supply.
Continuing its active work under “aviation” contracts with India, China, Indonesia, Vietnam and other traditional partners of Russia in the sphere of military-technical cooperation, Rosoboronexport establishes mutually beneficial business contacts with new partners as well.
Russian weapons have always been known for their reliability, efficiency, high power and quality. That is why countries from all the continents show interest in the products of the Russian military-industrial complex.
It’s no coincidence that the leading analysts believe that Su-35 will become one of the main export samples of the Russian aviation military goods in the next decade. Su-35 is a multirole jet fighter of 4 ++ generation. It is designed for gaining superiority in the air, air raids on the land and surface targets in any weather conditions and at any time. Fifth generation technologies have been used during its development and production, which provides superiority over foreign fighters of a similar class. In Russia, batch production of these unique machines has already begun and very soon they will take their place in the air formation. One of the major competitive advantages of Su-35 is its cost. In comparison with products of competitors, the parameters of this machine in terms of price/quality ratio are more preferable to customers.
In the Russian Air Forces, successful mastery of new operational jet trainers Yak-130 is under way. This machine provides high efficiency and low cost of training pilots for advanced 4+ and fifth generation jet fighters. The Yak-130 cockpit equipped with large (6õ8 inches) color multipurpose indicators fully corresponds to the concept “glass cockpit”, and controls – to the concept HOTAS. An important feature of Yak-130 is the possibility of simulation of real battle conditions. The multipurpose indicator displays simulated target signs from radio detectors, equipment failure reports, and other parameters in real time. Yak-130 flying life is 10,000 hours, and its life cycle is 30 years. Maintenance of the aircraft is carried out “depending on its actual condition”, which essentially reduces maintenance costs. Yak-130 can be effectively applied as a well-armed light combat aircraft.
In fighting forest fires, the most powerful and effective air fire-fighter – amphibious aircraft Be-200 – has shown itself to good advantage. It was presented abroad for the first time in 2001. Since then, it has successfully fought fires in Italy, Greece, Indonesia, Portugal and other countries. Italian pilots who worked together with Russian teams have confirmed reliability, maneuvering capability and easy maintenance of Be-200. This amphibious aircraft is capable of refueling with water not only in stationary conditions of an airdrome, but also in the gliding mode with the speed of 200 km/hour, taking 12 tons of water from a surface water body and performing its discharge precisely on the island of fire.
