OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2011. Navratna PSU National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has felicitated mountaineer Shri Jogabyasa Bhoi with a cash award of Rs.1 lakh for conquering Mt Everest. At a felicitation ceremony held at Nalconagar, Angul, Shri P.R. Choudhury, Executive Director of Smelter & Power Complex, handed over the cheque to Shri Jogabyasa Bhoi in the presence of Shri Debaraj Senapati, ADM, Shri Satyabrata Bhoi, SP, Angul, Shri A.K. Sahu, GM(H&A) and Shri Pradosh Mohanty, DGM(Admn).

Hailing from a small village Rupra in Kalahandi district of Orissa, the 32-year-old mountaineer is the third Oriya to scale Mt Everest. Sharing his experience on the occasion, Shri Bhoi said that his long cherished dream of scaling Mt Everest was fulfilled only because he never gave up his plans despite acute shortage of funds for the expedition. Shri Bhoi expressed his gratitude to NALCO for the felicitation and also appreciated the role of the company in promoting the talents of the State.
