Perm CHPP-6 Completes Installation of Siemens Combined Cycle Unit
OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2011. Perm CHPP-6 (a part of Generation Urals Division of CJSC IES) is starting preparations for the first stage of start-up works that will focus on scheduled testing of some elements of a new combined cycle unit and synchronization of interaction of all its parts. The next testing stage will include first fire of the steam turbines.
The last stage provides for hot tests of the main equipment. Seventy-two hours of the unit's comprehensive testing are the mandatory final testing stage for energy equipment before the start of its commercial operation.
Perm CHPP-6 is being upgraded under the Malachite project, a part of CJSC Integrated Energy Systems' Diadem investment program. Malachite, implemented by the company on a priority basis, is a key project in the development of the Perm Region's energy system. In fact, a new power plant has been built on the premises of CHPP-6 within the framework of this project: a combined cycle unit installed in the CHPP's new building includes two SGT-800 gas turbines of the latest modification, two advanced waste heat boilers and an SST-600 Siemens gas turbine. Following its commissioning, the generating unit's capacity will reach 124 MW, or twice as much as the plant's current capacity.
Upon completion of the Malachite project the plant's electric capacity will treble to 180 MW, while its heat capacity will increase by 240 GCal/hour to 833 GCal/hour. The new heat capacity can provide heat to over 50,000 new flats. Thus the central part of
By the end of 2010 investment in the construction of Perm CHPP-6's energy unit reached RUB 6.9 billion. The total investment in the project scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2011 will amount to RUB 9 billion.
