Fujitsu and SAS Institute Japan Form Partnership

Fujitsu Limited and the SAS Institute Japan Ltd. today announced that they have established a partnership in the field of Business Analytics or BA(1), an area in which advanced analyses and projections are formulated from a variety of data. The partnership will enable Fujitsu to sell and deliver BA solutions from SAS, one of the world's leading vendors in the field of Business Analytics, within the Japanese market. In addition, the companies will work together to develop BA solution proposals and provide deployment support.
Going forward, both Fujitsu and SAS Japan plan to strengthen their alliance in the field of Business Analytics and form an even closer strategic partnership together.
Background
In recent years, the business environment has been undergoing rapid change as a result of globalization, economic structural changes, and social networks, among other factors. Under these circumstances, the key to success for companies is how they can rapidly change business strategy in the right way. Details of the Partnership
As part of SAS' partnership program, Fujitsu will become a reseller partner in Japan and begin to sell and deliver SAS solutions. As the first step of the agreement, Fujitsu and SAS will work together to develop solution proposals and provide deployment support, with a focus on customers in the manufacturing and retail sectors. This focus will gradually expand to other industries.
The companies plan to showcase their initiatives and solutions case studies at the SAS Forum Japan 2011, which will be held on July 12, 2011.
In aiming to further enhance their portfolio of BA solutions, Fujitsu and SAS will continuously explore the development of solutions, including technical tie-ups that leverage both companies' strengths and continue to strategically strengthen their alliance.
