Moscow, London, 14 June 2011– Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, has expanded its oil and gas research and investment banking business with three senior appointments.

Daniel Barcelo is joining the Firm as Global Head of Oil and Gas Research. Vladimir Rusinov and Gregory Stoupnitzky have been appointed as Co-Heads of Renaissance Capital’s Oil and Gas Investment Banking business.

Rusinov, who is based in Moscow, is one of Renaissance Capital’s leading bankers, with responsibility, since 2007, for the Firm’s CIS energy business, during a period covering numerous groundbreaking transactions in the region. Prior to Renaissance Capital, he worked at ABN AMRO, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

Stoupnitzky, who joined Renaissance Capital on 1 June in London, has more than 20 years’ experience in various investment banking roles, with significant sector expertise in extractive industries, particularly oil and gas and base metals. Prior to joining Renaissance, he was managing partner at CIS Capital, a New York-based advisory firm focused on the CIS energy sector. Previously, he worked at Morgan Stanley and Imag Gmbh, a private equity partnership, and at Bear Stearns & Co.

Barcelo joined Renaissance on 6 June, in London, managing a team of 10 analysts across the Firm’s key geographies. He brings 19 years of oil and gas experience on both the buy- and sell sides. Most recently, he worked at Moore Capital Management in New York as director of research, leading sector-wide energy strategy in the US, Europe and emerging markets. Prior to that, he was a senior energy sector analyst at Bank of America and Lehman Brothers.
