OREANDA-NEWS. June 14, 2011. OMZ-Foundry Production, a part of OMZ Group, has shipped a unique all-cast propeller screw billet for the Dudinka icebreaker. The billet weighs 20 tons and has a diameter of over 4 m. It is made of 06H15N4DML superalloyed corrosion resistant steel.

1219-ton Dudinka icebreaker was built in 1970 and is owned by JSC  Norilsky Nikel. Manufacturing propeller screw billets for such vessels requires special attention and responsibility during the model kit production, forming and casting. High quality of Izhorsk cast products was confirmed by the inspection of the Russian Shipping Sea Register.

The contract was signed in March 2011. On June 3 the billet was shipped to Zvezdochka repair center in Severodvinsk.
