Cathay Pacific Expands Code-Share Arrangement with Alaska Airlines
OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2011. Cathay Pacific Airways announced an extension of its cooperation with Alaska Airlines to cover two destinations in Mexico via the Los Angeles hub of the US carrier. The flights are open for booking now for travel from 15 June, reported the press-centre of Cathay Pacific Airways.
Under the agreement, Cathay Pacific's “CX” code will be placed on Alaska Airlines’ flights operating between Los Angeles and both Mexico City and Guadalajara in Mexico.
Cathay Pacific Chief Executive John Slosar said: “We first entered the Latin American market in May 2010 and we are glad to see a further expansion of our presence there with Alaska Airlines, offering seamless connections for our passengers flying to Mexico.”
Elsewhere in Latin America, the Hong Kong airline has code-share arrangements in place with LAN on flights to Santiago and with LAN Peru to Lima.
Cathay Pacific began cooperating with Alaska Airlines in October 2010 and is currently code-sharing on the US carrier’s services from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver to Seattle and Portland.
