OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2011. National Congress of China Association for Science and Technology was concluded in the Great Hall of the People. Baosteel Association for Science and Technology was awarded Pacemaker of Advanced Collective in National Association for Science and Technology System, the only one to receive this honor in Shanghai Association for Science and Technology system, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

The National Congress of China Association for Science and Technology was held once every 5 years. Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Chiarman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Wang Zhaoguo attended the closing ceremony and made a speech, the newly elected president of the 8th national committee of China Association for Science and Technology Han Qide delivered the closing speech. The congress granted the honorary titles of Advanced Collective in National Association for Science and Technology System and Advanced Worker in National Association for Science and Technology System to 200 collectives and 499 individuals in National Association for Science and Technology system, among which, 32 collectives were awarded the honorary title of Pacemaker of Advanced Collective in National Association for Science and Technology System.

Over the 5 years, with the center of "three service and one reinforcement" proposed by China Association for Science and Technology, Baosteel Association for Science and Technology organized various competitions and explored the channels for academic exchanges at home and abroad to enable various work to proceed in a scheduled, systematic, popular and effective way, created the new situation for the work of Baosteel Association for Science and Technology and formed the unique feature of the work of Baosteel  Association for Science and Technology.
