ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. Arranges Round Table
OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2011. As part of the international forum ATOMEXPO-2011, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. has arranged a round-table discussion on a new technological platform for mining uranium using geo-technological methods. Speakers at the round-table included JSC Atomredmetzoloto Deputy Director General Alexander Boytsov and Geological Research Department Head Igor Solodov, as well as representatives from JSC NAC Kazatomprom and other partner companies of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co.
World leaders in the uranium mining industry are opting for economically effective and environmentally sustainable geo-technological mining methods, in particular in-situ leaching, Igor Solodov said. By 2015, the share of uranium mined using geo-technological methods will increase to 55% from 32% in 2008.
Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FGUP) VIMS Director General Grigory Mashkovtsev drew attention to the relevance of geo-mathematical and technical modeling for the management of mining processes using in-situ leaching.
Speakers also noted the importance of developing heap and block leaching methods to intensify uranium production.
