Baku Starts Activities to Improve Tourist Service Quality
OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2011. Azerbaijan is likely to begin soon large-scale work to improve the quality of service in all areas relating to reception and service of tourists.
Nahid Bagirov, head of the Azerbaijan Tourism Association (Azta), says that the main goal of these works and improvement of tourism industry is to show Azerbaijan to the world as a country with developed tourism.
"Eurovision 2012 contest has become for us a chance to prove to Europe and the world that tourism industry exists in our country and it is quite well-developed. This will be a watershed event in the tourist area of Azerbaijan, and we must do everything to continue attracting tourists and ensure a significant influx of tourists in the coming year," he said.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan had launched work to improve the quality of services in country’s regions and arrange special trainings for employees in this industry.
"In the near future, we are going to involve in efforts aimed at improving the service quality the hotel employees, workers of restaurants, shops, all participants in the service industry. All owners of tourism and other facilities should be aware that they will be able to earn not only at the time of Eurovision 2012, and a good service and quality guarantees repeated influx of tourists into the country, as a country where you can rest well and without problems," Bagirov said.
