OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2011. Belarus has almost completed sowing spring crops, except for cereals, Deputy Agriculture Minister Vasily Pavlovsky told reporters.

Spring crops have been sown on 2.8 million hectares, 9% above the target, including early crops and legumes on 1.294 million hectares, flax on 67,700 hectares, corn on 912,600 hectares, and sugar beet on 100,100 hectares.

Financing of the entire sowing campaign will amount to 4.2 trillion rubles after adjustments have been made, instead of the originally planned 4.8 trillion rubles.

“As of today, we have spent 2.6 trillion rubles out of the planned 4.2 trillion rubles,” Pavlovsky said.
