OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2011. In May RUE Beltelecom completed works on bringing IPTV ZALA platform into the level of regional centers. Now, the platform segments are operating in regional data centers of RUE Beltelecom, reported the press-centre of Beltelecom.

Deployment of IPTV platform in regional centers will reduce the load on the data transmission network when processing individual (unicast) requests from users.

Therefore such services as Video on demand, Time shift TV and provision of other IPTV interactive functions are supported now by regional platforms and capacity of regional infrastructure is used.

Broadcast of television channels in real time mode (multicast) will still be provided by the main platform.

By the end of May the subscriber base of ZALA has achieved 290 thousand, more than 20 of which are located in Minsk. The rest of the subscribers are located in regional centers. IPTV platform was launched in commercial operation in the year 2008, the brand ZALA was announced in the year 2009.
