OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2011. Following the results of activity in 2010, aggregated volume of premiums charge under cargoes’ insurance of Ingosstrakh OJSIC amounted 811 million rubles, that is 18% higher than the last year level. In 2010 Company’s clients’ portfolio under the cargo insurance amounted more than 1700 companies.

The greatest success has been achieved in the sphere of exhibition and valuable goods insurance. The total volume of premiums in this segment amounted 248.6 million rubles, that is 52 % higher than 2009 level. Among the most significant projects, implemented during the accounting period, it should be noted the conduction of exhibition events within the Year of Russia in France and the Year of France in Russia. Ingosstrakh OJCIS continued to work actively as a member of the Society of Friends of the Moscow Kremlin and the Russian Museum.

Last year the company collected 211 million rubles under the insurance of general cargoes. Within the previous year, 45 contracts with new major clients were concluded in this line.

Following the results of 2010, the total volume of premiums under primary goods insurance amounted more than 145 million rubles, that is 15 % higher than in the previous year. Within the past year, significant growth in transportation of oil and petroleum products, metals, sugar, animal feed, tropical oils, chemical products, fruit was observed, that eventually led to total premiums growth in this line.

A quarter of the total amount of cargo insurance charges or 206 million rubles in 2010 composed the insurance of consumer packaged goods. Despite the continued reduction of tariffs, premiums decline for a number of large clients, the company managed not only to preserve the volume of business, but also to ensure a positive trend at the rate of 5 %, mainly due to attracting of new partners. In total, within the year, 18 thousand insurance contracts have been concluded in this line that is 5.7 thousand contracts more than in 2009.

In 2010, Ingosstrakh OJSIC significantly strengthened its standpoints in many regional markets. The line of primary goods insurance obtained the powerful impetus in the regions which premium growth exceeded 83 %. In total, in 2010 regional divisions of the company concluded more than 15 thousand contracts, that made 5 thousand contracts more than in 2009.

During 2010, 1 547 claims have been resolved, including the claims of previous years, totaling 194 million rubles.

The largest insurance payments may include the indemnification of 25 million rubles in connection with total loss of coal cargo in the result of the shipwreck, 10 million rubles – in connection with car theft with household appliances in a result of fraud, 6 million rubles – in connection with car theft with office equipment.

Commenting on the results of the year, Nikolai Galushin, the Deputy Director General of corporate business of Ingosstrakh OJSIC noted: „2010 was marked by the gradual stabilization of financial situation in the country, which, in turn, influenced the revival of trade and economic relations and, to some extent, contributed to the recovery of quantitative volumes of trade and logistics operations. Getting out the crisis of the main part of economic subjects ensured the growth of demand for services related to cargo insurance.”
