OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2011. On the 25th of May the airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) together with Azerbaijan airline Turan Air opened the scheduled flight Baku – Novosibirsk – Baku.

The significance of this flight for both countries was noticed by the minister of Transport and Road department in Novosibirsk region Mr. Simonov:

- This route will consolidate business, cultural and public relations between Novosibirsk and Azerbaijan. The appearance of Azerbaijan airline is a good sign. Today the air routes from Tolmachevo connect Novosibirsk city with many capitals of former soviet republics, therefore one of our major tasks is opening of the flights to all capitals of CIS countries.

- Each new flight for us is a good possibility to offer Novosibirsk citizens and our city guests to try new destinations and to discover new cities and countries. Tolmachevo works for satisfying the interests of passengers and air carriers maximally. It is confirmed by this flight opening to Baku. I’m sure our cooperation with Turan Air airline will be successful and long-term, - noticed general director of JSC “Airport Tolmachevo” Alexander Borodin, handing over the sighed passenger carriage selling agreement to deputy director general of the airline Turan Air Mr. Novruzov.

-  I’d like to thank everybody, who has taken part in the flight opening to sunny capital of Azerbaijan – Baku. Our nation is famous for kindness and hospitality, rich cultural traditions; therefore we will accept with pleasure all our nationals and our city guests, - said Mr. Novruzov in return.

The first flight Novosibirsk- Baku carried about 80 passengers. The specialists suppose that in the future aircraft commercial loading will be maximal. Baku destination is considered to be very popular among Novosibirsk citizens. Azerbaijan Diaspora in Novosibirsk city is one of the most numerous on the territory of Russian Federation. Regularly hundreds of Azerbaijanians use the airline services to fly from Novosibirsk to Baku and back. That is why the specialists are sure this flight will be demanded among Novosibirsk natives and our southern guests.

At the end of the ceremony a colorful national dance was presented by the Azerbaijan artistic group.

The flights Novosibirsk – Baku- Novosibirsk will be operated by the aircraft type TU-154M on Wednesdays. Flight time is about 4 hours. The cost of single ticket starts from 6 000 rubles, return ticket –12 000 rubles.
