OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2011. As it is reported by the administration of the company, the MSW plans to produce 800 ton per day, in a month - more than 15,5 thousand tons As it is noted, the factory has orders, the staff is ready and willing to work actively.
The main task for the near future - to produce, replenish working capital. We remind that the Moldavian Steel Works stopped in summer 2010 because of the crisis faced by the metallurgical industry as a whole. The company failed to repay debts to the budget on the previously obtained loans under the program of the state's anti-crisis support.
Debt of USD 29 million was later paid fully for the assistance, but the works ran into problems in customs clearance of inbound raw materials and consumables to run the company. These issues are solved with the participation of the Transnistrian authorities. MSW is the largest enterprise of Transnistria. The plant was commissioned in January 1985, projected capacity is 684 thousand tons of steel and 500 thousand tons of finished steel per year.
Production volume of MSW was significantly higher than the original design capacity and production reached 1 million tons of steel per year. Controlling stake in MSW belongs to two groups of investors from Russia and Ukraine. MSW managing company is the holding Metalloinvest of Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov.
