Kyrgyzstan Harmonizes Standards on Making of Mineral Bottled Water
OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2011. The Ministry of Economic Regulation of the Kyrgyz Republic (MER) held a roundtable at which MER representatives commented on the introduction of technical regulations “On safety of bottled natural mineral, natural, drinking and table water”, reported the press-centre of IBC.
The document was adopted on April 6, 2011 and will be used in the EurAsEC countries including Customs Union. The technical regulations were developed by a team of MER expert and supported by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
According to MER, the document makes it possible to bring local standards into line with international safety standards and promote national product to international markets. Within six months manufacturers of bottled water have to comply with the requirements of the new technical regulations.
