OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2011. Experts of the "Atomenergoproject" JSC (general designer of the "Akkuyu" NPP) have begun creation of basic geodetic network at the site of the first NPP in Turkey, having opened thereby a new stage of prime engineering surveys in May. It is planned, that the said works will be completed by the middle of June. Then there will start full-scale complex surveys under the technical control of the “Atomenergoproject” experts. Now, coordination meetings with Turkish subcontractors on the entire set of the issues connected with engineering surveys are being held.

 In March this year a geodetic group arrived to Turkey. It consists of the experts of the JSC "Atomenergoproject". It has successfully executed topographical surveys of the area of 160 hectares. The task was solved in the conditions of mountain relief undertime. As a result, just in the beginning of May the design divisions have received materials of the topographical surveys to work out the variants of the NPP general plan.

 Geodetic control network is a system of the reference points definitely chosen and fixed, serving as reference elements at the topographical surveys and geodetic measurements.

 First and foremost engineering surveys, which will last to the middle of November of the current year, are aimed at obtaining of authentic data on natural and technogenic conditions of the "Akkuyu" NPP site. Results of surveys will be used for preparation of the design documentation and obtaining of the licences for the NPP.

 The entire volume of engineering-prospecting works is planned to be executed in 2012 by the representatives of the "Atomenergoproject" JSC with attraction of local experts.
