After becoming one of the first national established "Two-oriented” pilot enterprises, TISCO now is rated as annual clean production environmental friendly enterprise of China steel industry in 2010 by China Steel Industry Association, and becomes one of the only two listed enterprises. TISCO green development pattern has become a model of national steel industry, obtaining industrial attention again, reported the press-centre of TISCO.

In recent years, TISCO adheres to take a new road to industrialization, walk on the path of sustainable development, and accelerate the realization of process equipment greening, manufacturing process greening, product greening and whole process of cleaner production. Through intensive elimination of backwardness and technology upgrade and replacement, TISCO realizes large scale and modernization of process equipment; After the operation of a number of energy conservation and emission reduction projects with international level, utilization ratio of industrial water recycle reaches 98.2%, and daily recovery processing ability of domestic sewage around urban area is 55,000 tons, new water saving annually is 12,000,000 tons, waste mixed acid, waste acid, blast furnace gas, waste heat and complementary energy are all recycled, annual utilization of wastes like fly ash and etc is 520,000 tons, by which TISCO realizes the reuse of liquid, gas and solid wastes and wastewater with all environmental indicators maintaining industry-leading; TISCO has formed a high efficiency, energy saving, longevity type products cluster based on stainless steel, including cold rolled silicon steel, railway steel, high-strength-toughness series steel, realizing the product greening; Ecological construction inside the factory has made great achievements, of which the green coverage reaches 39.4%, initially building an international first-class ecological garden type factory, becoming an industrial tourist spots of Taiyuan City.

In addition, TISCO constantly improves energy management system and environmental management system, and continuously promote the fine management level; by strictly implementing responsibility system of energy and environmental protection, carrying out energy saving and emission reduction index management, strengthening energy saving and emission reduction management innovation, TISCO makes an effective operation on energy management system and environmental management system.

During "the 12th 5-year plan" period, with insistence of green development, low carbon development, active fulfillment social responsibilities, further acceleration of research and development of low carbon manufacturing technology, TISCO will walk out a new road of low carbon development in high carbon industry, and make the green economy, low carbon economy become new development mode, new benefit growth point and competitiveness of TISCO, and lead the low-carbon development trend in China steel industry.
