OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2011. The international audit of activity of the former government of Julia Timoshenko, carried out on behalf of the Cabinet of Ukraine, has given practical positive result.

On May 20, 2011 the court of district Oregon (state of Oregon, the USA) made a decision, according to which to the State budget of Ukraine will be returned over 19 million the dollars illegally spent by the government of Tymoshenko on purchase of medication at overestimated prices through a circuit of middlemen. On May, 23 the appeal instance confirmed the decision of court, having rejected requirements of protection of the respondent.

The respondent under the legal action was the corporation “Olden Group”. It together with Ukrainian company “Interfarm” was the middleman of purchase of a vaccine, for costs of the Ukrainian taxpayers had made the government of Tymoshenko. The court made verdict that the price of vaccines had been overestimated in some times, and Ukraine suffered significant damage.

The financial frauds of the government of Tymoshenko established by the American court have been detected during the international audit.

Audit of financial and economic activity of the government of Timoshenko with objective to investigate the facts of abuses with budgetary funds had been begun in May of the last year. Authoritative international auditors had been involved in it. On the basis of results of their investigation the state Ukraine has had an opportunity to be judged concerning damages caused by our country.

Undoubtedly, the Government of Ukraine is satisfied by a judgment on return to Ukraine more than 19 million dollars that is equal, for example, costs of creation of the modern diagnostic and treatment center and many times over exceeds expenses for carrying out of the international audit of activity of the government of Tymoshenko.

The Government expresses its conviction that the said ruling is only the first but not the last step to restore justice and the return of Ukraine stolen money. Of course, soon to return to the budget are even more significant sums have been illegally spent on questionable deals during the activities of the government with 2008 - the first quarter of 2010.

The Government expresses confidence, that the mentioned judgment is only the first, but is not last step on restoration of validity and return to Ukraine stolen money. Undoubtedly, in the near future into the budget have to be returned even more significant sums which have been illegally spent for doubtful deals during activity of the government of Tymoshenko in 2008 - the first quarter 2010.
