IDGC North-West Plans to Reduce Costs for Technological Connection
OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2011. It was suggested to create own project departments in the branches of the company to eliminate the involvement of contractors for the design of transmission lines 0, 4-10 kV and reduce the financial costs of consumers.
In “IDGC North-West”, during the last two years, the number of applications for preferential technological connection considerably increased. For example, in the I quarter of 2011 the number of applications for technological connection of power facilities with capacity less than 15 kW, increased by 2,522 units (173 %) over the same period in 2009., And the requested capacity increased by 318% or 31.8 MW.
Implementation of preferential technological connection, under the current legislation, is a priority for “IDGC North-West”. For I quarter of 2011 the company performed 1665 contracts on technological connection , including 1561 contracts on technological connection of power facilities with capacity less than 15 kW
Significant amount of investments for implementation of preferential technological connection in 2010-2011 led to the need to adjust the term of contracts for a number of investment projects.
This problem was discussed during the meeting of top-managers and branch managers of IDGC North-West, which was held in St. Petersburg.The participants of the meeting reviewed the situation and outlined the ways to minimize the costs for preferential technological connection.

For implementation of the construction works, it was recommended to increase the number of mobile teams.
