OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2011. Head of the Republic of Karelia Andrew Nelidov visited the construction site of the plant for the production of Orient Strand Board (OSB). This production is unique not only for Karelia, but also for all Russia. . In accordance with the decree of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, the investment project of company “Kalevala" is included in the list of priority investment projects.

At the meeting, which was held by the Head of Karelia Andrew Nelidov, attended  Director of “Karelenergo” Yefim Ashkinezer. He said that all the questions on the current and project energy supply have been solved. The connection to the power grids of  “Karelenergo” was approved, as well as construction of the first substation (capacity  20 MW). Energy capacity 800 kW for the construction was obtained.
