OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2011. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Vyacheslav Shport, the Khabarovsk Krai Governor and Chairman of the Khabarovsk Krai Government.
The meeting addressed the progress with the Agreement of Cooperation and the Accord on Gasification between Gazprom and the Khabarovsk Krai.

 Alexey Miller and Vyacheslav Shport discussed the issues of gasification and gas supplies to the region and agreed to implement the regional gasification operations and preparation of consumers for gas supplies in a synchronized manner.
Background

 Gazprom and the Khabarovsk Krai Government entered into the Agreement of Cooperation in April 2002 and extended it in November 2009. The Accord on Gasification was signed in December 2005.

 The natural gas penetration level in the Khabarovsk Krai averages 15.3 per cent including 17.8 per cent in cities and towns and 0.8 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia amount to 63.2, 67.5 and 45.5 per cent accordingly.

 In 2009 Gazprom worked out the General Scheme for gas supply to and gasification of the Khabarovsk Krai. In 2010 the Company allocated RUB 90 million to design and launch the construction of three regional inter-settlement gas pipelines with the total length of 33.8 kilometers.

 This year Gazprom is going to invest RUB 1 billion in the regional gasification development. The funds will be used to design, construct and commission five inter-settlement gas pipelines with the total length of 39 kilometers as well as to design two gas laterals and a gas liquefaction facility near the gas distribution station of the Nikolaevsk-on-Amur city.
