OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2011. After an overhaul at the Tulachermet Steam Air Thermal Power Plant, TVD (turbo air-blower) No. 5 has been commissioned. Att 22 megawatts, TVD-5 is one of the factory's most powerful units. This air-blower services the third furnace, which is the most productive. The most recent overhaul at the TVD-5 came in 2005; since then, the unit has seen heavy-duty operations, and the need for a new overhaul has been apparent for some time now.

On 10 February of this year, the TVD-5 was stopped. During its repair, capacities of the reserve TVD-4 were brought online. During this work, the turbine's steam rotor and the high-pressure air rotor were replaced, and an overhaul repair of all auxilliary equipment was completed. Tests have shown that the machine's blowing performance has improved.
