OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2011.  This year Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ) plans to increase its uranium output by 10% up to 7,600 tons. The plan was revealed by the uranium miner’s top executive Yakov Polunkin at a briefing in Moscow on may 17.

“Last year, 7,100 tons were mined [inclusive acquired Uranium One’s assets], this year we plant to mine by 10% more as compared to the last year, or approximately 7,600 tons and in 2012 to build it up by another 10% to make 8,100 tons,” Polunkin said.

He clarified that over these years mining would increment mainly owing to foreign assets, in particular, Uranium One, and gradually by 2020 it would be due to larger mining output in Russia. These are, specifically, Mines No. 6 and No. 8 of PIMCU (Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union) and Dalur and Khiagda.
