OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2011. The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine has sent to the Government's discussion the draft resolution “On approving the application of construction standards, developed on the technology based on national traditions, and construction standards, harmonized with EU regulations”.

This was announced by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services Viktor Tyhonov. He explained that the document need to determine the mechanism of simultaneous construction standards, developed on the basis of national technological traditions, construction standards and harmonized with EU regulations. According to the official, Ukraine has 228 technical building standards and 145 technical building standards for pricing. A significant part of the building standards are the requirements for the designing of buildings, structures and products.

"In accordance with state construction norms of Ukraine, which are based on national technological traditions, designing and building in Ukraine are realized over the years. At the same time it is difficult in accordance with them to resolve the issue of international trade of structures, products for domestic construction projects abroad.

There are still unsolved issues in construction of Ukraine, carried out by foreign firms, their financing and insurance by foreign banks and insurance companies. It is therefore necessary to decide on the transition to the use of building standards, harmonized with regulations of the European Union", - said Viktor Tyhonov.

Vice Prime Minister said that the draft regulation has been designed to implement the Law of Ukraine “On regulation of city planning”.
