Russian Helicopters Took Part at HeliRussia 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2011. Russian Helicopters, the helicopter industry holding and a part of UIC Oboronprom, is proud to exhibit new helicopter programs along with production models of civil and military helicopters at its booth #1E, hall #4, pavilion #1, at the 4th HeliRussia 2011 international helicopter exhibition which opened today in Moscow at Crocus Expo international exhibition center.
The second prototype of the Mi-38 mid-to-heavy helicopter was introduced to visitors and aviation specialists. The helicopter made his first flight from Kazan to Moscow last fall. The Mi-38 OP-2 is powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada XPW127/5 turboshaft engines and equipped with modern Tranzas IBKO-38 “glass” avionics suite. Russian-made TV7-117V engines are the option for this helicopter. The Mi-38 is a new generation helicopter ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort in its own class.
The focal point of Russian holding's display appeared to be the Ka-226T light coaxial configuration helicopter powered by Turbomeca Arrius 2G turbine engines with VR-226N gear unit. The Ka-226T is a great product of international cooperation that brings an enhanced maneuvering, climb and altitude performance to its potential customers. These engineering solutions ensure the outstanding safety of the Ka-226T - it has enough power (up to 750 hp) to fly even with one engine off. The certification test program and production facility preparation are expected to be finished in 2011.
Besides visitors enjoyed the new modification of the Ka-32A, the Ka-32A11BC multi-profile rescue helicopter, at the static display in front of the entrance to Crocus Expo. This helicopter along with the second fire-fighting Ka-32A11BC equipped with a water cannon for horizontal fire-fighting was delivered to Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disasters Response on the eve of the exhibition under the 2009 contract for delivery of five medevac Ka-32A11BC helicopters also prepared for fire-fighting equipment installation.
Many experts consider Ka-32A11BC as one of the world's best rescue and fire-fighting helicopters. According to state aerial rescue units and commercial operators these helicopters are widely used for fire-fighting, law enforcement, rescue and evacuation of sick and injured out of natural disaster areas, special police missions and state border patrolling.
Russian Helicopters also exhibited its civil production line-up including the Mi-8/17, the Mi-26T, the Ka-62, the Mi-34C1, Ansat. Exhibition visitors also enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the newest Ka-52 Alligator and the Mi-28NE Night Hunter fighter helicopters which were in the center of the static displays at the previous HeliRussia exhibitions.
Besides the new Russian-made helicopters demonstration the holding took part in the business program. Modern helicopter solutions on emergency and natural disaster response were introduced at “The role of helicopters in meeting relevant objectives in the regions” conference which took place in “Russian Helicopters' Day” on 19 May.
