WISCO Nuclear Power Steel Identified International Advanced Level
OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2011. WISCO organized a appraisal meeting on the scientific research achievement of “development for nuclear power station level 2 and 3 pressure-retaining equipments steel WHD265”. WISCO R&D Center, Central Steelmaking Plant, Central Hot Mill, Quality Inspection Center have jointly carried out this project. On the meeting, the appraisal commission agreed that WHD265 steel reached international advanced level with its real performances, reported the press-centre of WISCO.
For the nuclear power level 2-3 pressure-retaining equipments application, WHD265 steel applies to manufacture containments, hanging facilities and pressure-retaining equipments for second and third generation improved nuclear power stations. It has excellent comprehensive properties on metallurgical quality, physical property, mechanical property, welding property as well as anti-irradiation embrittlement, which ensure safety and stability during application. The development of steel WHD265 successfully enables substitution of imported steel of the same kind with even higher stability than imported ones.
This project has generated one patent and two technical knowhow. Currently, the steel has been successfully applied to some key construction projects such as Qinshan nuclear power station phase ? expansion project, Lingao nuclear power station phase expansion project and Hongyan River nuclear power station project, and achieved great economical and social benefits.
