OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2011. It was declared by Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, in comments to Monday government decision on joint-stock company "the National lottery of Moldova" founded by the Ministry of Finance.

He has noted that this enterprise on behalf of the state will have monopoly in the field of gambling, be engaged in regulation of all kinds of gambling: lotteries, slot machines, bookmaker offices, a casino. It is planned that the private companies which are engaged in Moldova in this activity, will work before the expiry of the term of licenses without the subsequent prolongation and delivery of the new.

Head of the Ministry of Finance has underlined that the state purpose - to provide transparency of the collected means, to raise budget incomes, and also, according to the international practice, to direct a part of means from gambling to support of sports, formation, cultural and social projects. Veaceslav Negruta has noted, in particular, plans to realise the projects directed on struggle against dependence on gambling of children which spend the money received from left on earnings abroad of parents.

The head of the Ministry of Finance has specified that "the National lottery of Moldova" will answer as well for an arrangement of places of gambling. He has reminded as an example legalisation and use by the state of potential of gambling for budget replenishment experience of Romania, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Canada and the USA where the monopoly for gambling, in particular, lotteries, is held by the state. This activity is regulated by the state companies under the Ministry of Finance. Creation and activity beginning of "the National lottery of Moldova" requires about 500 thousand leis.
