OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2011. As Boris Gerasim, the deputy minister of transport and a road infrastructure, has noted, more than 583,3 million leis is intended for national roads, and 204,68 million leis - for local.

The greatest part of means of fund - 331,78 million leis - will be directed on the maintenance and operating repair of roads (national - 212,1 million leis, local-119,68 million leis). About 120 million leis will be spent for acquisition of special road technics, cars and the equipment.

As Boris Gerasim has noted, this year following roads of national importance will be under repair: Chisinau-Leusheny-border with Rumynej (23,5 million leis); Tiraspol-Kaushany-Chimishlija (25 million leis); New Aneny-Kaushany-Shtefan Vode-border with Ukraine (41 million leis), New Aneny-roundabout Kaushany-Shtefan Vode (20,3 million leis); Kalarash-Lozova-Hyncheshty (18 million leis); Floreshty-Vedeny (12 million leis); Dondjushany-Sudarka (10 million leis); Chadyr-Lunga-Kongaz (a line of Baurchi-Kongaz) (10 million leis); Floreshty-Nikolaevka-Synzherej (9 million leis), etc.

About 40 million leis will be directed for works on traffic safety - drawing of a road marking, installation of traffic signs. Earlier it was reported that in 2011 about 70 % of works on repair and the maintenance of roads in Moldova will be financed through auctions. The Vice-premier, Minister of Economics Valery Lazar at session of administrative board of the Road fund has underlined that carrying out of tenders will provide transparency of distribution of contracts and will raise a competition between the specialised companies.

As Boris Gerasim has noted if before work on repair and the maintenance of roads was carried out by the regional specialised enterprises last year 56 % of it was executed on competitive basis that has led to occurrence in the market of 11 new operators, foreign companies . We will remind that the Road fund for 2010 made about 583 million leis. Thus, for repair of roads it has been allocated up to 134 million leis. Means of Road fund are collected from excises for import of oil products, gathering and road taxes. By statistical data, more than 90 % of national and 95 % of local roads need urgent repair.
