Norilsk Nickel Fulfills Its Obligations Related to Relocation Program
OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2011. OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter referred to as MMC Norilsk Nickel, the Company or the Group) informs about fulfillment of its current obligations under quadripartite agreement, reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel.
The Quadripartite Agreement between the Ministry for Regional Development of the Russian Federation, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Norilsk Municipal Formation, and MMC Norilsk Nickel, aimed at relocation of eligible Norilsk and Dudinka citizens to Krasnoyarsk Territory regions with more favorable natural climatic conditions, was signed on August 31, 2010.
Under the agreement 11,265 eligible families (no less than 1,126 families per year) are to be relocated in 2011-2020. The corresponding long-term target program was developed on the basis of the Agreement. The program was embraced by the government of the Krasnoyarsk territory in October 2010.
MMC Norilsk Nickel transferred 830 million rubles to the budget of the Krasnoyarsk Territory as part of fulfillment of its obligations in 2011. The Company shall allocate a total of 8.3 billion rubles for the relocation program.
