OREANDA-NEWS. Starting June 10, 2011, Ukraine International Airlines relaunches flights to Lviv International Airport. The flights will be operated twice a day except Tuesday, reported the press-centre of UIA.

The UIA flights to Lviv will be operated on Fokker-50 aircraft 50 seats capacity. The airline will exploit short-haul aircraft instead of the traditional UIA medium-haul Boeing 737 aircraft due to technical limitations of the runway in Lviv airport, being reconstructed within the program on the preparation and conduction of the Euro 2012 in Ukraine. With reference to the reconstruction operating schedule, the flights will not be operated on Tuesdays.

The UIA flights to/ from Lvov will be conveniently connected with both domestic flights (to Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odessa, and Simferopol via Kiev), and European destinations (to Amsterdam, Berlin, Geneva, Lisbon, Paris, Brussels, Rome and other key cities of Europe via Kiev). Moreover, providing connections with the cities of the UIA Eastern sector - Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Tbilisi, Samara, Almaty, and Astana – UIA makes these destinations easily reachable for the residents of Lviv.

“We are glad to relaunch flights to Lviv, since Lviv International Airport is one of the strategic airports for UIA, - noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Press Secretary. – Thus, we provide passengers from Western Ukraine with the opportunity to quickly and conveniently reach all the UIA destinations. This summer the list of new routes was enlarged with the capital of Kazakhstan Astana and the Russian city of Samara. In the nearest future our passengers will be able to travel to Moscow. The cities of Western Europe and Middle East, the CIS countries and exotic resorts – all these destinations are once more at the call of UIA passengers from the western regions of Ukraine”.
