OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2011. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 4% on the year in January-March 2011 to 637,200 tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee stated.

Steel output increased 5.7% on the year to 685,200 million tonnes, and steel pipe output was up 45.4% on the year to 58,500 tonnes in the period. Standard quality wire output rose 22.7% on the year to 82,800 tonnes in the period, and steel wire output rose 25.6% to 21,100 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 26,000 tonnes of metal cord in the period, up 5.4% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 17.2% on the year to 3.499 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-March 2011.
