OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2011. The implementation of the TATNEFT resource saving program in the first quarter of this year resulted in saving 13,049 tons of standard fuel. Electric energy savings amounted to 8,406 thousand kWh, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The most efficient activities aimed at saving electricity in the oil and gas production divisions included decline of water production resulting from withdrawal of the water-bearing horizons from operation (18.3%) and reduction of the associated water production through the selective stopping of the of highly watered wells (14.7 percent). The structural divisions and service enterprises achieved energy savings through the introduction of variable frequency adjustable electric drives for rotary-screw compressors (20.7 percent), the reconstruction of lighting networks of the painting stations (13.2 percent) and the installation of cosine capacitors at the control station of the downhole sucker rod pump drives (10%).

Estimated cost of saved material and natural resources in the first quarter of the year totaled about 69 million rubles.

The TATNEFT’s integrated program of resource saving was developed and approved in 2010 for the period till 2020. Its goals and objectives have been harmonized with the requirements of the Federal Energy Conservation Law, as well as with the State Program of energy conservation and energy efficiency, approved by the Russian Federation Government Executive Order No. 2446-r dated December 27, 2010.

The boundaries of the new program are wider than the previous ones and they cover not only the energy but also the natural and material resources. In addition to structural divisions the program also involves the service management companies.

The introduction of the energy efficient technologies in the framework of the program should yield the following results in saving the fuel and energy resources: 7.4 percent of the baseline consumption by 2015 and 13.5 percent saving by 2020.

The assignment for the Company’s energy resources conservation for 2011 is 1.5% of baseline consumption.
