Turkmenistan Defined Priorities of International Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2011. The 39th session of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification finished in the Arzuv Hotel located at coast of Caspian sea, Avaza.
Within three days the heads, leading specialists and experts of the national agencies on technical regulation, standardisation, metrology and accreditation and their constant partners – representatives of the international and regional organisations from more than 20 countries of the world discussed the live issues related to the work of their institutions and prospective trends for further cooperation.
The fact that Turkmenistan, which pays significant attention to introduction of high quality standards, advanced technologies and innovative developments in all spheres of the national economy, increasing of the volumes of production of high-quality ecologically pure goods and nature protection, heads the Interstate Council, whose main activity is aimed at strengthening and widening efficient international trading and economic, scientific and technical cooperation as well as pursuing the coordinated policy in the sphere of technical regulation, standardization, metrology, certification and accreditation, is of particular importance for this meeting.
According to the reports presented at the forum, today all countries, members of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification carries out the large-scale work to update the existing standards, technical regulations and other regulating documents that are an important instrument to ensure high quality of raw materials, materials, spare parts, finished products, production means and methods of its organization. First of all, they spoke about such priority sectors as fuel and energy, food, construction, engineering, etc.
In the performances participants of the meeting underlined the importance of harmonization of national standards with international ones including European that will promote developing business and cooperation between producers on the vast territory of Eurasia. The necessity to develop new standards, measuring instruments, interstate standard samples of composition and properties of various substances and materials, update information on existing interstate and national standards and establish an appropriate electronic database was marked also.
Numerous bilateral meeting between the heads of national agencies on technical regulation, standardization, metrology and accreditation and representatives of the international and regional organizations including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the Working Group on Standardization and fixing of proper output rates of the European committee of the United Nations (UNECE), International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC), the European Committee for Standardization and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standards (CEN-CENELEK) took place in the framework of the forum. During negotiations the partners discussed new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in priority lines and specific projects.
The organizers of the forum prepared the versatile cultural programme for the guests. In the framework of the programme forum participants visited the landmarks of Avaza and learnt more about the prospects of development of the Avaza National tourism zone.
Upon completion of the meeting forum participants adopted an address to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. They expressed deep gratitude to the Turkmen leader for comprehensive support provided in organisation of this international meeting, which was held at the high level, as well as expressed the hope that the results of the meeting would promote in studying and using world experience in all spheres and would make considerable contribution to the further expansion of efficient international cooperation.
