Baosteel Won 2010 Shanghai Science and Technology Awards
OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2011. The 2010 Shanghai Science and Technology Awards announced its result. Baosteel's 5 projects won awards, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.
The development of high-performance thin enamel steel series, red gas spout sintering gas desulphurization whole set technology, high sulfur resistant oil casing and tubing product series won the 2nd prizes in 2010 Shanghai Science and Technology (Science and Technology Progress) Award. 1800 cold rolled carbon steel sheet surface quality control research and seawater corrosion resistant steel and its supporting welding material development and application won the third prizes.
The development of high-performance thin enamel steel series breaks the situation of dependence on imports. At present, Baosteel high-performance thin enamel steel is of the most complete strength grade and best integrated performance in the world. Sintering fume desulphurization whole set technology has formed 26 patents, 34 technical secrets, and is widely used in large-scale sintering machine whole gas desulfurization projects at Baosteel. High sulfur resistant oil casing and tubing products have reached the international advanced level and become the domestic oilfield customers' first choice.
It is reported that the 2010 Shanghai Science and Technology Awards were given to 298 projects (people), of which 49 first prizes, 88 second prizes, 160 third prizes and 1 International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
