OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2011. JSC VTB Bank Supervisory Council resolved to appoint Senior Vice-President Yuri Soloviev First Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board, reported the press-centre of VTB Bank.

Andrey Kostin, President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board, said: “Yuri Soloviev has achieved remarkable success in developing VTB’s investment business. VTB Capital has become a leader among Russian investment banks and a high-margin business for the Group. Therefore, I’m delighted that Yuri has accepted this appointment to take responsibility for the Group’s corporate and investment banking business, which is a key area of VTB’s 2010 – 2013 Strategy. I am confident that Yuri will excel in his new position.”

Yuri Soloviev was born in 1970. He graduated from the Plekhanov Russian Economic Academy and London Business School (Еxecutive MBA).

Mr. Soloviev has almost 20 years of experience in investment business both in Russian and international markets. Since May 2008, Yuri Soloviev has been the head of VTB Group investment arm, VTB Capital.

His previous positions include First Deputy Chairman of Deutsche Bank Russia; Head of Global Markets in Russia & CIS, the largest and most profitable division of Deutsche Bank in Russia and the CIS. He was responsible for global market business in the region, including currency trading, interest trading, derivatives, bonds, loans, securitization, shares, derivatives and structure instruments trading, real estate and infrastructure, as well as private investment. His area of responsibility also included the Analytics Department and Debt and Share Capital Primary Market Department.
