OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2011. The official reserve assets increased by 125 million dollars in April 2011, which is the highest monthly rise ever registered.

The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has said that, on 30 April 2011, the official reserve assets stood at 1.918.39 billion dollars against 1.793.44 in late last March.

The increase was mainly due to the consolidation of the exchange rates of the currency reserves' currencies against the dollar - 50.73 million dollars, the entrance of an IMF 55.71-million-dollar-worth installment into the BNM's accounts and to the reception of an IMF 23.87-million-dollar loan to back the state budget.

At the same time, Moldova paid foreign debts of 7.25 million dollars and made other foreign payments amounting to 2.86 million dollars.

The reserves have cumulatively increased by 200 million dollars since early 2011.
