OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2011. VAGONMASH CJSC will be delivered 8 cars to the Novosibirsk subway before the end of 2011, two of them are leading (with driving cab) model 81-540.2N and six are intermediate model 81-541.2N. Last time the St. Petersburg car manufacturers supplied subway cars to Novosibirsk in 2001.

The interior of new cars will be made on the basis of sheet metal with polymer coating, the leading cars will be provided a place for people with limited mobility, and the opportunity of placing a wheelchair.
 The exterior of a leading car will be made with "mask" of hard combustible fiberglass, a driving cab will be provided an air conditioning.
 
Currently, the inventory of Novosibirsk metro’s cars are 92 units, including 46 cars produced by VAGONMASH.
