OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2011. JSC Latvian Shipping Company (LSC) informs that according to the LSC Supervisory Council requirements, information on upcoming LSC Supervisory Council meetings and their agendas has always been sent to all of Supervisory Council members, including Olga Petersone – the representative of State Social Insurance Agency (SSIA) in LSC.

The public allegations of O. Petersone that she, as a member of the Supervisory Council, has not been informed about Supervisory Council meetings are completely false.

For example, on April 18, 2011 LSC informed O. Petersone about a Supervisory Council meeting planned to take place on April 27 11:00am. An invitation to the meeting and materials of the meeting was sent electronically via email, invitation to the meeting was also sent via fax to the current working place of O. Petersone.

LSC regrets that the representative of the SSIA in LSC Supervisory Council O. Petersone could not find the time to participate in the last meeting of the Supervisory Council and duly represent national interests (without any explanation about her absence given to LSC), as well as get additional information about any issues that were unclear to the SSIA.

According to the LSC Supervisory Council Regulations, the Chairman of the Supervisory Council has to inform the time and place of any upcoming and regular Supervisory Council meeting 5 working days before the meeting. The requirements are also that the agenda of the meeting and draft resolutions have to be sent 5 working days in advance. In extraordinary circumstance, according to the LSC regulations, it is possible to hold the meeting and to take decisions by means of facsimile communication devices.
