OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2011. The Government at its session approved the draft Law of Ukraine "On amendments to the Land and Forestry Codes of Ukraine regarding forest conservation.

The aim of the draft Law is the need to improve legislation in sphere of land and forest relations, and limits the removal of land on which there are forests, for nonforestry purposes.

Adoption of the bill would ensure preservation of forests in land privatization, increasing their environmental and resource potential, strengthen the role of forest ecosystems in general and in particular strengthen the role of forest resources in maintenance of sustainable development areas, increase the environmental safety of the state.
