Germany Company Draexlmaier Opened New Plant in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2011. The second plant of the Germany company Draexlmaier to produce on-board electric systems and other auto parts was opened in Moldova. The Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat and the Draexlmaier Director Fritz Draexlmaier participated in inauguration of the plant located in the free economic zone Balti. It was said that about 400 people are currently working at the enterprise of 13,000 square meter area, however in future the number of workplaces is planned to be increased to 1,000.
The Moldovan-German company Draexlmaier Automotive’s investment into construction of two plants totaled 13 million euros. Fritz Draexlmaier highly appreciated the Moldovan government’s support to promoting the investment projects, stressing that Moldova has got good conditions for business development. In his turn, Vladimir Filat said he hopes that opening of the second Draexlmaier plant in our country will be a good beginning for launching other Germany investors’ projects in the country.
The Prime Minister welcomed the fact that Draexlmaier is actively cooperating with the government to improve the legislation aimed at enhancing the business environment in Moldova, the fact that has a beneficial impact on the local market development in line with the advanced European standards. Fritz Draexlmaier said the Balti free economic zone provides acceptable conditions and good prospect for business development. He assured that his company will be promoting other investment projects as well in Moldova.
The Germany company Draexlmaier began its production activities in Moldova in 2006. It develops and produces modern electronic board systems and spare parts for vehicles of the leading brands, such as Audi, BMW, Bugatti, Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz and others. Dra Draexlmaier Automotive enterprise with foreign investments, established in Moldova by the German concern Draexlmaier is the main resident of the Balti free economic zone and ranks the 4th in the list of Moldova’s biggest exporters in 2010.
