OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2011. CTC Media, Inc. (“CTC Media”) (NASDAQ: CTCM), Russia’s leading independent media company, announces the appointment of Dmitry Troitsky as General Director of the DTV Channel with effect from May 16, 2011. Mr Troitsky will be responsible for the further development of the DTV Channel, including its programming schedule, audience profile and market positioning. DTV was acquired in 2008 and is the third of CTC Media’s national television networks in Russia, reported the press-centre of CTC Media.

Mr Troitsky has previously served as General Producer of the TNT Television Network in Russia for seven years, and has acted as an advisor to the CEO of CTC Media since December 2010. He also worked for the CTC Network from 2000 to 2002 as an executive producer.

Former General Director of DTV, Alexey Zynkin, has been appointed as Deputy General Director for strategic programming for the CTC Channel.

DTV Channel
DTV Channel was launched in 1999. CTC Media acquired DTV in 2008 fr om Modern Times Group MTG AB. At present DTV is positioned as a TV channel with a unique format for the Russian market – “actuality” (“actual reality”). It is based on the viewers’ interest in extreme, non-standard and sometimes funny situations which everybody can face and the style of some programs resembles amateur video shoots. Today DTV is nationwide channel. Its technical penetration in Russia is 72.5%. Average audience share in its target “All 25-54” demographic for 2010 was 2.1%.
