OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2011. In January-April 2011, the Company carried 281 million passengers, up 0.8% on the same period in 2010, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

In April 2011, Russian Railways recorded 8.9 billion passenger-km, 0.8% more than during the same period in 2010.

31 million passengers took long-distance trips, down 3% compared to the same period in 2010, while 250.1 million passengers used suburban services, a fall of 1.3%.

Passenger turnover on Russian Railways’ network in January-April 2011 increased by 2% compared to last year and amounted to 35 billion passenger-km.
