OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2011. The Technical Committee ISO TC 229 Nanotechnologies of the International Organization for Standardization will meet in St. Petersburg from 16 to 20 May 2011, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

This will be the first time a meeting of the TC 229 will be held in Russia since its inception.

The meeting is being organised by Rosnano and RosStandard and will bring together leading experts from more than 40 countries to examine the current state of, and prospects for, developing international standardisation in nanotechnology.

As part of this event, meetings of the ISO TC 229 working groups will examine the following issues:

terminology and nomenclature in the field of nanotechnology,

measuring and defining parameters,

aspects of nanotechnology related to health, safety and environment,

specification of nanomaterials.

Russian Railways is currently organising its delegation to the event.
